Introduction

The Hotensia Mukami Scholarship is a transformative educational support initiative established under the SABEK HOPE Foundation to empower bright but financially disadvantaged learners through access to quality education, mentorship, and holistic development opportunities.

Named in honor of Hotensia Mukami Njoroge ,the author of From Sorghum fields to Canada-A story of faith and resilience,, whose life reflects resilience, compassion, faith, and commitment to uplifting others, the scholarship seeks to preserve her legacy by investing in the potential of young people who face barriers to achieving their academic dreams. The program is founded on the belief that education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking cycles of poverty, restoring dignity, and building sustainable communities.

The scholarship aims to identify deserving students from vulnerable backgrounds and support them through secondary, tertiary, and specialized education pathways. Beyond financial assistance, the initiative seeks to nurture leadership, integrity, innovation, spiritual values, and community service among beneficiaries, preparing them to become responsible citizens and future change-makers.
